Johanna river farm offers a choice of one bedroom cottages for couples seeking a romantic stay in the Great Ocean Road and Otway National Park region.

The Cottages

Each of our one bedroom cottages is fully self contained and equipped with all the comforts.  Woodfires with a wood box at your door, queen size bedroom, and beautiful farmland forest and ocean views.

Choose either Bluegum Cottage or Acacia Cottage for your next romantic getaway.  The Acacia cottage has the added luxury of a corner spa and is located on a secluded part of our 280 acre farm.  With expansive views over the forest and farm land and a hint of the Southern Ocean

. 

Whats to do?

Simply spend time together and relax in your cottage.  Or you might like to explore the farm.  Our farm stay is exclusive to our cottage guests, so you won’t be disturbed.  A walk to the Johanna river or through the forests meeting up with visting koalas, kangaroos, and echidna or an array of native birds.  We offer a farm tour or you can self explore and meet a range of friendly farm animals – We provide a farm map and tips on exploring the farm and the region.

Attractions and Activities

Johanna beach, just down the road is a must visit.  Especially beautiful for summer sunsets and invigorating walks.  Johanna beach is pet friendly too if you are holidaying with your pets.  You might decide to explore further afield?.  Cruising along the Great Ocean road to the 12 Apostles coastline (45 minutes west) and exploring hinterland townships such at Timboon.  There’s the 12 Apostles Gourmet Trail.  Cheese makers, whiskey distillery, chocolate makers, icecream makers.  and some great regional cafes and dining as you explore.  Or head east along the Great Ocean Road.  Visit iconic locations such as the Cape Otway Lightstation and seaside townships such as Apollo Bay (45 minutes drive).

Just 20 minutes inland from the farm are the cool temperate Rainforest and Waterfalls of the Otway National Park.  Triplet Falls, Hopetoun Falls, Beauchamp Falls (a pet friendly site for those couples travelling with their fur babies) the Redwoods, and the Otway Fly Tree top Walk.

The cottages have well equipped kitchens and gas bbq – so self catering in an option,  Or our nearby little township, Lavers Hill, has a couple of lovely eateries.  We often recommend The Perch at Lavers Hill for couples seeking a romantic dining experience.  A beautiful setting, creative chef, seasonal menu, wonderful cocktails, and happy hour on Friday afternoons.  Check their socials or ask us for details.
