Our Farm

Our Farm

A 280 acre working sheep farm & home to Zac and Jagger the sheep dogs, Ali baba, Zanzibaa & the other pet sheep; Cashmere, Kristy, and Micky the goats, Nutmeg, Honey, Caramel, & Nougat the Alpacas, Pickles the donkey, Holly & Chilli the ponies, Russel Crow the rooster & his hens, ducks & turkey Tom.

There are bush tracks down along the river where you can discover cascades, hidden fern gullies in our beautiful forest. You might even spot a platypus. Meet & feed our friendly farm animals, collect eggs from the chicken house, fresh herbs from the garden & fruit from the old orchard.

Guests are welcome to explore the farm and meet the animals. Bring a torch for a night time walk under (hopefully) big starry skies & you can visit the glow worms in the fern gully.

Pets on holiday

As well as the farm, there are some great pet friendly sites in the region to explore with your pet. We provide a listing of pet friendly places to visit - see attached.

Guests are welcome to explore the farm, collect eggs from the chicken & duck house, pick fruit from the orchard, and pick fresh berries, (seasonal) herbs and salad from the guests produce garden.  We can conduct a ‘farm tour’ at a mutually suitable time (usually anytime between 9am and 4pm) and introduce guests to various friendly farm animals ~ pet sheep, goats, chickens, ducks, farm dogs, donkey, ponies, the alpacas. We provide a bucket of animal feed which we replenish as needed so that you are free to pet and feed the animals whenever you like.  We are a working ‘sheep farm’ with approx 400 sheep on the property – work with our sheep is a seasonal occurrence and happens from time to time.

Access to the farm is exclusive for guests staying in the cottages. We do not cater to ‘day visits’.

We do not provide meals.  Guests  either ‘self cater’ or dine out.  Each cottage has a fully equipped kitchen with all cooking utensils, oven/stove, gas BBQ & utensils and full size fridge/freezer, microwave.  Condiments include: filtered drinking water, plunger coffee, instant coffee, selection of teas, sugar, salt, pepper, cooking oil.   Alternatively, our town Lavers Hill is located 8kms up the road and has a range of cafes for dining out or take away.  With advanced notice, meals can also be ordered and delivered to your cottage by contacting local chefs (ask us to send sample menu’s).

Allow just under 3 hours if traveling to us from Melbourne via the Princes Highway.  If travelling to us via the very scenic great ocean road, don’t rush – as there’s scenic stops along the way – Allow approx 5 hours for an enjoyable, unrushed, scenic trip.  (travel times depend on traffic and road conditions).  On receipt of booking, we provide info on touring routes.

Tariffs range from $190 per night through to $330 per night and depend on:
* Type of Cottage ( one bedroom – one bedroom spa – two bedroom)
* Length & time of stay ( two night minimum applies / peak and off peak periods)
* Number of people ( tariffs are for two people + additional person, unless stated ‘cottage price’ which applies for longer stays)
