Johanna river farm and cottages are located on the Great Ocean Road at Johanna beach – at the foot of the Otway National Park

Our 280 acre farm is exclusive access to guests staying in our cottages. Two bedroom cottages are ideal for families and friends and can accommodate upto 5 people. Our one bedroom cottages are ideal for a couple – or twin share.

What is the meaning of farm stay?

A “farm stay” means paid, guest accommodation on a farm for the purpose of participating in educational, recreational, or social activities on the farm that feature agricultural practices.

Johanna river farm and cottages are a working ‘sheep farm’ – We currently have 300 breeding sheep on our 280 acre farm and four fully self contained cottages.

If guests like, we offer a ‘farm tour’ where we are happy to explain the workings of the farm. Our guests can also meet and feed a range of friendly farm animals, collect eggs from the hen house, pick produce from the guests share garden, and fruit from the orchard (seasonal).

The Cottages

Each of our one bedroom cottages is fully self contained and equipped with all the comforts. Woodfires with a wood box at your door, queen size bedroom, and beautiful farmland forest and ocean views.

Choose either Bluegum Cottage or Acacia Cottage for your next romantic getaway. The Acacia cottage has the added luxury of a corner spa and is located on a secluded part of our 280 acre farm. With expansive views over the forest and farm land and a hint of the Southern Ocean
